Governance

JEAD is governed by an eight member Board of Directors comprising the following

Mrs. Judith Ellen Awuah-Darko - Founder/ Chairperson

Mrs. Awuah-Darko obtained her GCE ‘O’ Level at Holy Child Secondary School. She pursued her education at the Hampstead Secretarial College, Hampstead, London, U.K. from 1960 to 1962. After which she worked with Mobil Ghana Limited, Accra, Ghana, an oil marketing company from 1962 to 1965

Mrs. Awuah-Darko is a founding member of the Theresian Movement of the Catholic Church in Ghana. Currently, she is the Founder and Chairman of the JEAD Foundation; a charity dedicated to supporting venerable women to combat the menace of Breast Cancer, she being a survivor of breast cancer herself.

Mrs. Awuah-Darko is the widow of the late Nana Awuah-Darko Ampem of the Vanguard Assurance Group of Companies and Nkosuohene of Juaben, Ashante.

Mrs. Awuah-Darko will be knighted by Pope Benedict XVI, in November 2012 as Dame of St. Gregory.
